Albion Photos: Brighton 1-1 Aston Villa, 18/01/20

Photos of the Premier League match between Brighton and Hove Albion and Aston Villa at the Amex Stadium on Saturday January 18th 2020 which ended in a 1-1 draw.

Brighton suffered another disappointing afternoon as they could only pick up a point at home against struggling Aston Villa.

The Albion had been the better side in a pretty dour first half but only had Leandro Trossard’s goal in the 10 minutes leading up to the break to show for their efforts.

A poor second half performance was then punished by the outstanding Jack Grealish who levelled things up with around 20 minutes remaining.

Just prior to the the goal, Graham Potter had made a strange substitution which involved taking off striker Aaron Connolly for right back Martin Montoya.

Steve Alzate moved into midfield and Aaron Mooy pushed up front with the disruption leaving Grealish with all the time and space he needed to equalise from Brighton’s right back position only seven minutes after all the seemingly unnecessary adjustments.

There was at least one small highlight from the 1-1 draw with Aston Villa – a beautiful winter’s sunset over Brighton which left the Amex looking stunning as these photos show.
