Albion First Goal Sweepstake Result
On last Sunday’s Live Abion Moan-in Webcast
We invited our listeners to predict the minute in which Brighton would score their first goal of the season. Three games had passed so far without a single goal, that’s a whopping 270 minutes of football.
Here are the predictions of our listeners:
- 271 – Scott
- 281 – Nick Osborne
- 288 - Robert
- 291 - Braders007
- 300 – Logan Newington
- 309 – Julian
- 320 - BHAFC4EVER
- 436 – Lionel
- 463 – Peter
- 532 – Mark
- 621 – Charles
The team drought was broken on Tuesday night away at Huddersfield as Brighton striker Liam Dickinson notched his first competative goal for the club in the 34th minute of the game. That combined total of minutes without a goal was therefore ended after 304, resulting in Logan Newington winning the sweepstake after he predicted 300 minutes, narrowly beating out Julian who had plumped for the 309th minute.
Oh yeah, and as for that game against Huddersfield, Brighton were edged out in an 8 goal thriller, well, if you can class a 7-1 defeat as being edged out!
The only way is up …..for now, Southampton are too far behind the Seagulls to overtake them anytime soon! It’s Stockport at the Withdean on Saturday, or is that Stockport A vs Stockport B with the amount for former County players now earning a wage on the south coast.
Will Brighton hit back after the humiliating defeat in midweek? Not likely, but here’s hoping.
Keep the faith.
