An Enjoyable 0-0!
Being the optimistic chaps that we are following the dip in form that had happened in November, there were serious considerations being made among the We Are Brighton team as to whether bother going to St Mary’s, especially with the new Harry Potter film out. Thankfully, blind faith once again won the day and we were rewarded with a point against the pre-season title favourites.
The flicky flicky football didn’t really get going in the first half and we seemed to lack any sort of plan b, which meant the ball was constantly being given away. Thankfully, Casper Ankergren decided to have his best game by a long distance in an Albion shirt to ensure it was 0-0 at half-time despite losing Adam El-Abd to a nasty looking injury which, thankfully, turned out to be just a nasty gash.
Glenn Murray once again showed his importance as he came from the bench and turned the game on it’s head, winning the penalty that Chris Wood, unlike on Saturday, failed to convert. To be fair to the New Zealand international, it was a bloody good save from Davis to ensure that we didn’t leave Southampton with all three points
A bloody good turn out from the Albion faithful who were in good voice and hopefully a point against an inform promotion rival signals the end of the little wobble we have seen in November – especially with December featuring games against Colchester and Huddersfield within a week that could have a huge bearing come the end of the season
