Inside the new Training Ground - October 2013

The Amex may be completely finished now (except for the hotel, water park and F1 track to be added), but that doesn't mean building work being carried out by the Albion is done. A rather large field between Shoreham and Lancing is currently being turned into a state-of-the-art training ground that will continue to revolutionise the club.

It will be a far cry from the current ground that the club uses at the University of Sussex - famous for forcing captain Danny Cullip to hand in a transfer request. Featuring a multitude of pitches including grass, under heated ones and the latest in 3G technology, academy facilities, offices and even a players garden, it's the final step in making the club ready for the Premier League.

Set to open in time for next season, Martin Perry took Oscar Garcia, his backroom team and the media on a tour of the site on October 10th 2013. We were lucky enough to have Brett Mendoza present as part of the gathered press after he won a competition which means these exclusive photos for WeAreBrighton.

It's going to be quite a venue - and further proof that while the squad may not be getting strengthened by Tony Bloom throwing wads of cash at it (FFP people!), his investment to the club has not stopped as this vital development shows.
