Vincenzo Teresa / Gregg Wallace wins Brighton Look-a-like 2023-24
Brighton fans have given Roberto De Zerbi and his coaching team one final parting gift as for the second year running, Vincenzo Teresa and his uncanny resemblance to Gregg Wallace wins WAB Look-a-Like of the Season.
De Zerbi will be remembered forever for everything he achieved with the Albion. A top six finish. Europa League football. FA Cup semi finalists. A style of attacking play which made Brighton one of the most exciting teams in the world to watch.
Alongside all that, he brought a fitness coach with him who looked just like everyone’s favourite judge from MasterChef.
Like most of De Zerbi’s entourage, Teresa spent almost all his time in the background. He did not speak once publicly during his 20 months at the Amex Stadium, not even to congratulate someone on their beef brisket.
But every now and again, Teresa would pop up in a post-match celebration or social media post. At which point, there would be utter joy at WAB Towers over the opportunity to reference the uncanny resemblance between Vincenzo Teresa and Gregg Wallace.

The departure of De Zerbi and Teresa causes potential issues for next season’s WAB Brighton Look-a-Like Award. You only have to note those filling the places behind Teresa to see that the Albion are fast running out of good look-a-likes.
Lewis Dunk and Neil from The Inbetweeners stormed into second spot. Dunk most recently won the title in the 2018-19 season with this being his highest finish since.
Unless Fabian Hurzeler appoints an assistant who looks like John Torode or the Albion base their summer transfer window work on players who resemble celebrities rather than algorithms and data, Dunk could well find himself regaining the crown in 2024-25.
He will face no competition from 2023-24’s third place Look-a-Like either as that went to De Zerbi and Ukrainian president Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
This bold shout first appeared in our social media mentions towards the end of the 2022-23 campaign. “Hear me out… but does RDZ look a bit like Zelensky?” wrote one Albion fan.
The answer was a resounding yes. It was a Look-a-Like deserving of far more praise than it received during De Zerbi’s time at the club.
