Time flies when you are having fun, doesn’t it? Here we are at the end of another football season with the final day of the 2020-21 Premier League season upon us.

For once, there is not much riding on it for Brighton other than potentially finishing above Crystal Palace in the table. Dead rubbers to complete the campaign have become commonplace since the Albion joined the top flight in 2017, but it has not always been this way.

In fact, Brighton used to specialise in getting to the last game of the season with something riding on it. Sometimes that was promotion, sometimes it was relegation and in extremely memorable instances in 1991 and 2014, it was a place in the playoffs which were only secured with seconds of the campaign remaining.
