Brighton’s 3-0 win over Tottenham Hotspur last weekend was an excellent way to kick start the 10th month of the year – but it wasn’t so long ago that October was an absolute graveyard for the Albion.
Between 2011 and 2015, we failed to win a single match in October. In that time, Amy Winehouse died, Barack Obama was re-elected, Jimmy Saville lost his knighthood, Prince William and Kate Middleton got engaged, married and had two babies and there were 267 managerial changes in the Football League.
The run covered 20 games with 13 draws and seven defeats during which time we managed to score 12 times and concede 20. It was baffling as none of Gus Poyet, Oscar Garcia or Sami Hyypia could find a way to break it.
And so this week’s WAB Friday Quiz is 20 questions from that period, one from each of the games that the Albion failed to win. How much can you remember about the Curse of October?
