Unless you’ve been living on the planet Mars for the past fortnight, then you’ve probably heard that Alexis Mac Allister is now very much a Brighton player.
The Argentinian forward was granted a surprise work permit in mid-January. The Albion managed to successfully go through the bizarre process which included bidding to sign their own player from Boca Juniors and he could now make his debut away at Sheffield United tomorrow.
Brighton’s media machine has gone into overdrive since Mac Allister arrived in England, hyping him up beyond belief.
Every other social media post this past week has been about Mac Allister to the point where you’d have thought we’d actually signed a much more famous Argenitnian number 10 by the name of Lionel Messi.
If Mac Allister doesn’t score at least five times at Bramall Lane, then there could be some serious disappointment among Albion fans.
It’s a dangerous game, this much hype. Especially as Brighton’s record with South American imports is so mixed. But sod it, we’re jumping on the bandwagon and as a result, we’ve dedicated this week’s WAB Friday Quiz to Mac Allister’s home continent.
