There has been a lot of talk about Brighton & Hove Albion and set pieces over the past week. Which is hardly a surprise given how rubbish the Seagulls have been at them this season.
At one end, 11 of the goals which Brighton have conceded have come from corners, free kicks and penalties. Down the other end and what feels like 90% of corners are rendered completely pointless by being played short.
That reached its nadir when a short corner against Southampton on Monday night ended up 80 yards away from the Saints goal at the feet of Maty Ryan.
It has not always been like this. There used to be a time when the Albion were good at set pieces. Actually, there have been lots of times when we would threaten from corners and free kicks.
