If you are a fan of Brighton and Hove Albion on Facebook, then you can’t have failed to notice the overriding question that gets asked on virtually every single update the club offers – Where’s Percy Tau?

Our new-found South African followers don’t seem to have quite grasped the concept yet that Percy Tau can’t actually play for the Albion. He doesn’t qualify for a work permit and won’t do for at least another year unless South Africa have an improbable rise into the top 50 of the FIFA World Rankings.
That’s why he is currently on-loan at Union Saint Gilloise, Tony Bloom’s other club in the Belgian second tier. Not that it stops the endless comments asking where he is, saying he should be playing based on the fact he’s been nominated for African Player of the Year when Tottenham Hotspur’s Victor Wanyama hasn’t or that him turning out at the Amex would add 500,000 supporters to the gate at the Amex.

Paul Barber and Martin Perry have constantly said that the Amex can only expand with a few seats here and there. They’ll definitely need to reconsider when Tau makes his Albion debut, as Linda Biyela reckons the average home gate will go up by half a million people.
Goals will come if Percy Tau comes back either….otherwise u guyz will be relegated in the end of this season
Arson Daniels Nthotsela believes that without Tau playing for the Albion, Huddersfield Town and Cardiff City are suddenly going to become competent teams and the 10 point gap to the relegation zone will disappear. An interesting take on things.

He is far better than most players playing in ur team, that guy can dribble past 5 players and create a goal or score himself, he has got everything
Being able to dribble past five players and create a goal or score himself makes Tau better than the likes of Glenn Murray, Solly March, Lewis Dunk, Shane Duffy and Maty Ryan apparently. Ah, if only life was so simple.
