Four of Brighton’s first seven games selected for television coverage
Four of Brighton and Hove Albion’s first seven Premier League games have been moved for live television coverage.
BT Sport will show the Albion’s first ever game in the Premier League on Saturday 12th August at 5pm when Manchester City visit the Amex.
The late kick off is excellent news as it means that no matter what happens, we are guaranteed to not spend the entire season bottom of the table – that spot will be occupied by somebody else for at least the 45 minutes between the 3pm games concluding and our encounter with Sergio Aguero and co kicking off.
Sky will show our visit to AFC Bournemouth on Friday 15th September with an 8pm kick off at Dean Court Fitness First Vitality Stadium.
The marketing people at Sky must know that Bournemouth v Brighton will be a bloody tough sell to their global audience as they are already billing it as a “South Coast Derby”. Geography obviously isn’t a strong point in that office given we are nearly 100 miles apart.
The third game is a Sunday for Sky Sports when Newcastle Untied visit the Amex on September 24th at 4pm and our first ever visit to the Emirates Stadium will also be on a Sunday.
BT Sport have picked that one with our first ever visit to the Emirates taking place on October 1st with a ridiculous midday kick off. The Arsenal game would’ve been moved to the Sunday regardless due to the Gunners participation in this seasons Thursday night Europa League.
