Some potential transfers Brighton could pull off in the summer

Brighton’s season has been a bit up and down so far. While European matches against the likes of AS Roma highlight just how far the club has come, they have been supplemented by inconsistent spells in the Premier League that have seen the club fail to match the same type of form that was on display last season.
A deeper squad with additional quality is needed
While most Seagulls supporters don’t have too much to complain about given the amazing journey the club has been on, many are still fully aware of the need to add further quality in the summer months.
Injuries haven’t helped either, of course, but the gruelling schedule of domestic and European football appears to have caught up with the squad.
Despite the various issues that have surfaced this season, Brighton are still winning admirers in Europe. Likewise, the Seagulls’ style of play is the envy of many Premier League podcasters.
Additionally, while the decline has been evident, Roberto De Zerbi’s troops have never looked like they’d be sucked into a relegation battle, with odds on the Premier League relegation results showing far bigger clubs being in far more danger, with the likes of Everton being priced at 6/1 for the drop.
Although relegation appears to be off the table this campaign, next season could see the side battling down at the bottom of the table.
After all, a De Zerbi departure and a lack of fresh faces in the squad could have a huge impact. Stranger things have certainly happened in football.
As such, investing in the summer is necessary. Thankfully, given Brighton’s astute hierarchy, summer business is almost guaranteed as the club continually looks to evolve.
Dominic Solanke has been mentioned
Although Bournemouth would be reluctant to let their star man depart the club, it appears as though Dominic Solanke is likely to do just that in the summer.
Brighton have been linked with a move in the past, although the undoubted large transfer fee he would command might make a move for the deadly striker tough to pull off. Whether it’s Brighton or not, Solanke will surely interest a lot of clubs at the end of the season.
Sammie Szmodics would be an interesting addition
Despite there being no solid links to Brighton just yet, some fans are calling for the club to look at Blackburn’s Sammie Szmodics.
Aged 28, the dangerous attacker has the experience required to adjust to life in Brighton, while his goalscoring exploits showcase his natural ability in front of goal.
Should the Seagulls require a striker in the summer, then Sammie Szmodics is a player that they could be looking at.
A bold move for Joël Matip would excite the fans

With his Liverpool future cast into doubt following numerous injuries and the impressive form of Virgil van Dijk, an Anfield exit could be on the cards for Joël Matip in the summer.
With Brighton’s leaky defence causing plenty of distress this season, Matip could follow the likes of Adam Lallana to the club and stabilise the defence in the process.
Harry Maguire is being considered
Harry Maguire has been linked with a move away from Manchester United for a few years now, but no club has failed to get a deal over the line for the England centre-back.
His wages might prove to be a key reason for that, and something that could put Brighton off, but should a deal be struck, then Maguire would be a shrewd signing for Brighton.
