Brighton handed mouthwatering Carabao Cup draw away at Bournemouth
Hands up then, who bothered to get up at the ridiculous time of 4am this morning to watch the draw for the third round of the Carabao Cup live from China?
The people of China are extremely passionate about the League Cup and it was therefore a no brainer for the Football League to bow to sponsors demands and host the draw in the early hours of the morning.
From Beijing to Shanghai, millions of passionate football fans were going mad at the prospect of Bournemouth stiffs v Brighton stiffs, which more than justified the “sod ‘em” attitude to the loyal supporters who actually turn up to games in what is beginning to border on a pointless competition.
The tie will take place in the week commencing September 18th. Which is great news if you love getting stuck in that car park at the Vitality Stadium as you’ll get to do it twice in a week given we play Bournemouth away in the league on Friday 15th September as well.
