Cheapest Albion match ticket to cost £45
Premier League football club, Premier League prices. Want to watch Brighton and Hove Albion play a ‘Category A’ game against one of the countries biggest teams? Then get ready to remortgage your house as the cheapest ticket will come in at an eye watering £45.
Those seats are available in the North Stand, West Upper corners and South corners. The most expensive ticket to see the likes of Manchester City, Manchester United and Arsenal will set you back £60 in the centre of the West Stand.
Category B games – of which the first is Newcastle United at home – range from £35 to £50 while Category C and the chance to witness the superstars of Burnley and Watford will cost between £30 and £45.
The club will no doubt bring out some spiel about how we compare to other Premier League teams in the south east but whichever way you cut it, the prospect of forking out nearly £200 if you and two friends want to go and watch 22 blokes kick around a ball for 90 minutes is frankly obscene.
It doesn’t get any better for families either – you know, those who want to get their kids interested in the Albion so that we have a next generation of supporters. A family of four are looking at £150 to sit in the family section for a Category A game.
Put simply, virtually all of us are being priced out of football, unless of course you have a season ticket with the direct debit payment option looking better and better value by the minute. Without it, many thousands of Albion fans would not be able to afford to watch their team.
Welcome to the Premier League, folks.
