The four best away trips for Seagulls fans next season

It is fair to say that most Brighton fans will be simply looking forward to getting back into the Amex next season, never mind jumping on the road or train to follow the Seagulls away.

But there are plenty of away trips that certainly take the fancy, and some excellent cities to really make the most of after 18 months with little travel.

We run down our four best away-days of the season…

Tottenham Hotspur
Of course, Crystal Palace will offer up the feistiest game of the London clubs, but a trip to Spurs’ new home offers the most appeal heading into the capital.

Holding over 60,000, only a select few Brighton fans will have been able to experience the stadium at present, with only two games having been played between the two sides in front of a packed house.

The ground offers a range of bars and restaurants inside, and while not for the purists who want a proper pie and pint, it is an interesting look into the future of Premier League football.

Leeds United
Of course many trips have been held up to Leeds in the Championship days, but this will be the first Premier League trip with fans in the stands and it’s a wonderful city to explore.

It’s not the shortest of trips in the world, but you can enjoy a bit of bingo on mobile or the tried and trusted Football Manager on your journey to keep yourself entertained.

Once there, not only will Elland Road be electric given it is their first season back in the division with fans, but also there are tons of great Yorkshire pubs and a number of breweries in the city, including Northern Monk, North and bars from Vocation, Thornbridge and Ossett.

Liverpool
Anfield is a special trip for any away fan and it’s towards the top of any checklist. Brighton of course picked up three points from Liverpool in February, and imagine getting to enjoy that moment live in the stadium.

Liverpool is another longer journey but again a city to be enjoyed, particularly for Beatles fans, with Mathew Street home to The Cavern, as well as many more bars. The Baltic Triangle is another area of the city thriving with bars and restaurants, with The Baltic Fleet well worth a visit.

Manchester United

They call it the Theatre of Dreams, Gary Neville calls it run down and in need of TLC. Either way, Old Trafford is one of the great British grounds, steeped in history and tradition.

The Seagulls lost 2-1 last time out, with a late winner from Mason Greenwood but even so it’s a great day out, with plenty going on in Manchester almost every night, so the enjoyment can continue well into the evening.
