Three Brighton FPL picks to consider for the Foundation’s mini-league
Alongside following Brighton’s pre-season showings in Japan, it’s that time of the year again when fans of the Seagulls will be assessing any viable Brighton picks for their Premier League fantasy football squads.
For many Brighton fans, the opportunity to reign supreme in the BHAFC Foundation’s mini-league is a challenge they’re relishing.
After all, alongside battling it out in mini-leagues with your mates, adding yourself into the Foundation’s competition is well worth it, particularly given the monthly prizes and the signed Albion shirt by the men’s first team that was on offer last season.

Fantasy football is something many fans of Premier League clubs enjoy. Alongside playing titles like Football Manager 2024 and online casino favourites like 11 Champions, it’s an excellent game to take part in, particularly given the array of viable picks Fabian Hurzeler has to work with. Brighton players will potentially be popular once again this season.
So, if you’re currently selecting your squad ahead of the new season or you’re considering making a few tweaks in the early stages of the campaign, then below are some of the best Brighton FPL picks that managers everywhere are snapping up.
Valentín Barco, anyone?
Given the fact that Pervis Estupinan is to miss the start of the campaign after undergoing surgery on an ankle injury sustained in the 1-1 draw with Burnley towards the end of last season, Brighton fans might be looking at Valentín Barco as a solid choice for their fantasy football squads in the first few weeks.
The Argentine isn’t a guaranteed starter, though, but with a price of just £4 million, he could enable you to invest more money in other positions.
Barco is also a talented youngster who is more than capable of cementing himself as the first-choice left-back for Fabian Hurzeler’s new-look Seagulls side. While he does have aspects of his game that he has to work on, there is no reason why he can’t have a breakthrough season.
João Pedro is proving to be popular
With Erling Haaland’s staggering £15 million price tag throwing a spanner in the works for many FPL managers, cheaper options that can bring in big returns are standing out.
Alongside the likes of Fulham’s Rodrigo Muniz, Brighton’s Brazilian striker, João Pedro, who is valued at £5.5 million in the game this season, is a player many fans are backing to shine.
In his first campaign with the club last season, the former Watford player scored nine goals in 31 games – a solid return for a player adapting to a new club in the world’s best league.
Pedro could kick even further on this season, particularly with further experience under his belt and a new manager to impress.
Investing in Pedro also allows managers to spend big in other areas, given his relatively cheap price. It’s certainly one to think about, although some managers might deem the tricky forward as a rotation risk given the abundance of attacking talent Hurzeler has to choose from.
Could Kaoru Mitoma return to his very best?

A player managers relied on in the past, given his impressive showings, Kaoru Mitoma could return to his very best this season.
Seven Premier League goals for Mitoma in 2022-23 is a record for a Japanese player in a single season, but his performances last campaign were fairly mixed.
Be it due to a loss of form or injury, Mitoma didn’t reach the same heights last season but a new manager could see him pick up his performances this time around. Valued at £6.5 million, he’s a sought-after pick for thousands of managers already.
