Test your Albion knowledge with the new Brighton Taxi Board Game

We love Brighton trivia. Give us a quiz about the Albion and we’ll happily sit there for hours answering questions about losing 2-1 away at Notts County on a Tuesday night in 1996, Dean Wilkins’ managerial record and every single one of Bobby Zamora’s 90 goals for the Seagulls.

If you’re the same, then we’ve got some great news for you – at long last, there is a board game devoted to Albion trivia.

Along with the brilliant Seagulls Programmes, we’ve spent the last 10 months or so working with Taxi Board games, writing a Brighton version of the game which features over 500 questions on the Albion’s history, players, managers and successes. We also managed to sneak a few questions in about some of the not-so-good times, too.

The end product is fantastic, even if we do say so ourselves. It’s such a simple premise too – the better your Albion knowledge, the more tips you’ll pick up in your taxi and the more money you’ll earn.

There are also opportunities to ‘sound off’ like a cabbie, where you are given a subject to talk about for 30 seconds with six key words that you have to cram in. The more key words you mention, the more money you make.

The subject could be football, it could be something else. Luck comes into it too; turn left and you might get a juicy fare to the airport, turn right and you could end up with a puncture.

Land on a ‘give or take’ square and you can decide whether to keep a card or pass it onto another player, without knowing if you’ve passed on good news or kept something bad until you turn the card over.

As you can see, just in case you can’t remember how many times Chris McPhee scored in the 2003-04 season, there are plenty of ways to make money.

If you like the sound of the game – and why wouldn’t you, it’s brilliant – Taxi Board have been kind enough to set up a discount code for WeAreBrighton.com readers to secure a 10% discount as well as free postage and packaging.

To order yours, head on over to Taxi Board Game and use the coupon code WAB10 on the check out page.
