Brighton FPL Gameweek 11: Accurate Adingra a road to points

Despite being held to a 1-1 draw at home to Fulham last time out, FPL managers invested in Brighton attacking assets like Simon Adingra should remain encouraged by what they saw at the Amex.

The Albion racked up 17 shots against Fulham. On another day, that would have been enough to see them score two, three or four times – as has been the case in most other games this season.

Even more encouraging is the fact the Gameweek 11 trip to Everton comes with Brighton having not played in midweek for the first time in what feels like an age.

The Seagulls will be rested ahead of the trip to Goodison Park, a venue where they have won on their past two visitors whilst scoring seven times along the way.

Evan Ferguson (£6.0 million)
The Albion’s top performer in Gameweek 10 was Evan Ferguson. The 19-year-old provided the Brighton goal, confidently placing a shot from the edge of the box into the bottom corner having been fed by Pascal Gross (£6.3 million).

Ferguson has now notched five Premier League goals from only six starts. His 13 shots on target so far ranks joint-seventh amongst all FPL players, made more impressive by the fact he has played over 200 fewer fewer than all those above him in that metric – except Callum Wilson (£7.8 million).

Furthermore, of all players with at least eight shots from the opening 10 Gameweeks, Ferguson has the best shot accuracy. 13 of his 18 have been on target, giving him a rate of 72.2 percent.

With Danny Welbeck (£5.8 million) out for some time due to his muscle injury, Ferguson has a chance to make a huge FPL impact during upcoming fixtures.

After facing Everton, Brighton then host struggling Sheffield United before travelling to Nottingham Forest.

Simon Adingra (£5.0 million)
Adingra is only narrowly behind Ferguson’s shot accuracy rate (71.4 percent) but has done so from just seven attempts. The Ivorian winger had a big chance at the back post against Fulham which would have resulted in a goal had he got a little more power on the shot.

Nevertheless, Adingra has started five of the Seagulls’ last six league matches and – similar to the situation with Welbeck resulting in more minutes for Ferguson – seems nailed on to play more because of the unfortunate Solly March (£6.2 million) suffering a bad knee injury.

It was around this time last year when Kaoru Mitoma (£6.5 million) started to announce himself to the Premier League. The similarities between Adingra and Mitoma in terms of style of play and career so far having shone on loan with Union Saint-Gilloise in Belgium have been well noted.

If Adingra can go onto have a similar impact for Brighton as Mitoma, then he will be a bargain for FPL managers – especially those who need to sell the hurt Pedro Neto (£5.8 million).

Captain Fantastic
Two big names lead the way in the fight for Gameweek 11 armbands. Erling Haaland (£14.0 million) brought in 16 points against Manchester United and is about to face an even easier fixture with Bournemouth visiting the Etihad Stadium.

There is also Mohamed Salah (£12.8 million) to consider. Salah is the leading scorer in FPL this season and has blanked just once. He travels to newly promoted Luton Town, averaging 8.3 points per game.
