Craig Noone voted WeAreBrighton.com Player of the Month for October 2011

Craig Noone added his second player of the month award as one of the only Brighton and Hove Albion players to come out of October with much credit.

Despite winning the award in August, Noone had to settle for appearances from the bench at Ipswich Town and at home to Hull City in the first two games of the month.

He returned to the starting line up with a goal away at Milllllllllllll, netting a smart volley from a Craig Mackail-Smith cross and again impressed in front of a national television audience in the defeat at home to West Ham United which was broadcast to the nation. At this rate, it won’e be long until the big boys come sniffing.

That second place went to a loanee who played in just two games sums up how bad things were in October. Chilean full back Gonzalo Jara took the honours with 16.67% of the vote based solely on his defensive solidness and his ability on the ball in his appearances against West Ham United and Birmingham City.

There was a dead head for third between Craig Mackail-Smith and Gordon Greer, so we asked listeners to November’s edition of the Albion Moan In to tweet us there pick from the two and they went with Mackail-Smith. Although he didn’t score in the month, he assisted Noone’s goal at Millwall and his work rate remains astonishing.
