Leonardo Ulloa voted WeAreBrighton.com Player of the Month for August 2013

With four goals in six games, Leonardo Ulloa started the 2013-14 season exactly where he ended the previous campaign and that was enough to see him win WeAreBrighton.com Player of the Month award for August 2013.

The Argentinian began the month by scoring a cracker away at The Leeds United before going onto net in every home league game so far – the 2-1 defeat against Derby County, the 2-0 win over Burnley and the 1-1 draw with Millwall.
That sort of form begs the question – where would we be without him at the minute, what would have happened had Crystal Palace succeeded in their cheeky bid for him and with no other striker arriving in the transfer window, just what will happen if, heaven forbid, he is injured or suspended?

Andrew Crofts is one of the players who seems to be enjoying a new lease of life under Oscar Garcia following an injury hit campaign last time out and that was enough for him to take second place, his first top three finish since rejoining the Albion from Norwich City last summer. He has two goals to his name already and looks to be back to his best in midfield with Wales recognising that by recalling him to the national side.

Losing Liam Bridcutt to injury could have been a massive blow to the Albion but the form of young Rohan Ince has reduced the problem significantly. He’d never played in the holding midfield role before this season but Oscar’s decision to move him there already looks like a stroke of genius and that’s reflected with a third placed finish in the voting.
