Leonardo Ulloa voted WeAreBrighton.com Player of the Month for February 2014
Leonardo Ulloa returned from injury firing on all cylinders, scoring every single one of Brighton and Hove Albion’s goals five goals in February to win his second WeAreBrighton.com Player of the Month award of the season.
His haul included the winners in the 1-0 victories over Doncaster Rovers and Leeds United, putting the Albion ahead in the FA Cup Fifth Round tie against Hull City at the Amex and scoring the consolation in the replay as well as netting in the 2-1 defeat to Wigan Athetic at the end of the month.
You can ask yourself two questions about the form of Ulloa this season – where would we be without him and where would we be if he had of been fit all season? The answer to question one is nowhere near the play offs and the answer to question to is probably battling it out for automatic promotion.
The winner of our January Player of the Month had to settle for second spot this time as Rohan Ince continued his impressive form, his worth being highlighted by the fact that the two games he missed against Watford and Wigan both ended in defeat.
Matthew Upson may have been responsible for gifting Wigan Athletic the opener at the Amex in the last game of the month but he has plenty of credit in the bank given that was with his first mistake in over a year as an Albion player. That slip aside, he was excellent again, particularly when it came to nullifying Leeds’ Ross McCormack to help secure a clean sheet against the Champions of Europe.
Leonardo Ulloa – 68.48%
Rohan Ince – 18.48%
Matthew Upson – 8.7%
Stephen Ward – 4.35%
