Rohan Ince voted WeAreBrighton.com Player of the Month for January 2014

Liam who? That is the question Rohan Ince has got Brighton and Hove Albion fans asking after he stepped straight into the shows of the departed Liam Bridcutt to win our WeAreBrighton.com Player of the Month for January 2014.

Ince missed just the one game when he was rested for the FA Cup Third Round tie with Reading and he even weighed in with his first goal for the club in the victory in the Fourth Round away at Port Vale. In the league, it was another fine month screening the back four which makes you wonder, if Bridcutt can go to the Premier League for £3m, then how much could Ince be worth it he keeps progressing the way he is?

Matthew Upson marked the anniversary of a year since his arrival at the Amex with arguably his best month in a Brighton shirt. He was another to sit out the Reading game but he helped the Albion to two clean sheets out of four games in the league, including against Burnley’s highly rated front two of Danny Ings and Sam Vokes.

Ince wasn’t the only young player to make an impression in January as Solly March took third place in the voting. Highly rated by Oscar Garcia, he scored in both his starts in the FA Cup against Reading and at Port Vale and with Will Buckley injured and Craig Conway having moved to Blackburn Rovers he was given a couple of chances to impress in the league with some promising cameos from the substitutes bench.
