When Burnley come to the Amex this weekend, there is a chance that all three of the strikers who fired Brighton to the League One title in the 2010-11 season could be on the pitch at the same time.
Glenn Murray still plies his trade in the stripes, albeit via spells with Crystal Palace, Reading and Bournemouth which we don’t talk about.
Ashley Barnes and Chris Wood meanwhile form a pretty potent strike force for the Clarets. There was even some calls in the run up to last week’s internationals that Barnes’ form was good enough to be rewarded with an England call up.
When you look at the success that all three have had in the Premier League, it’s astonishing to think we had them as a strike force in the third tier. And when the supply line was Elliott Bennett, it’s little wonder winning the league was a walk in the park.
