Tomasz Kuszczak voted WeAreBrighton.com Player of the Month for October 2012

In a month in which he effectively earned Brighton and Hove Albion 66% of their points single-handedly with two sensational performances away at Derby County and Blackpool, it comes as little surprise to see Tomasz Kuszczak walk away with our WeAreBrighton.com October Player of the Month award.

The 79% of the vote he chalked up is the highest share any player has obtained of a vote since we started our Player of the Month Awards in August 2011 and that just goes to show what an inspired and vital signing the big Pole has been since his arrival at The Amex from Manchester United. Had any of last seasons four custodians been in goal, it is probably fair to say that we’d be discussing a month in which only one point was garnered, that’s the sort of difference he is making.

Adam El-Abd makes his first appearance in the top three this season by finishing runner up. Now a regular in the Egypt squad, he was a rock at Blackpool and after Kuszczak, was the player who’s performance was responsible for that hard earned point at Bloomfield Road.

It was a dead heat between Wayne Bridge and Bruno for third so we turned to our We Are Brighton Twitter feed to decide the vote, with the on-loan Manchester City left back romping home with 100% in the Tweet Off. If anybody needs an indication of the impression he has created in his first three months at The Amex, he is yet to finish outside of the top three in a Player of the Month vote yet.
