Where’s Percy Tau? The January 2019 Edition

If you are a fan of Brighton and Hove Albion on Facebook, then you can’t have failed to notice the overriding question that gets asked on virtually every single update the club offers – Where’s Percy Tau?

Chelsea fan ejected for hurling homophobic abuse at the Amex – where’s Percy Tau? Third choice women’s team goalkeeper moves to Crystal Palace – where’s Percy Tau? Chris Hughton receives an honorary degree from the University of Brighton – where’s Percy Tau?

Our new-found South African followers don’t seem to have quite grasped the concept yet that Percy Tau can’t actually play for the Albion. He doesn’t qualify for a work permit and won’t do for at least another year unless South Africa have an improbable rise into the top 50 of the FIFA World Rankings.

That’s why he is currently on-loan at Union Saint Gilloise, Tony Bloom’s other club in the Belgian second tier. Not that it stops the endless comments asking where he is, saying he should be loaned to Ajax, Celtic or Hamburg immediately or that Tau will turn the Premier League into a ‘farmers league’, whatever the hell that may be.

In honour of the relentless enthusiasm of Tau’s South African worshippers, we’ve decided to run a monthly feature that tots up the number of Tau related comments emanating from the southern hemisphere as well as picking out some of the best ones.

The transfer window seems to have sent our South African friends even more mental than normal, which means we’ve got a bumper sized third edition of Where’s Percy Tau?

The five best Percy Tau comments…
Surely this guys are embarrassing south african football association, they can’t play our best player on development
Jurist Austin Shaka reckons the Albion are embarrassing South Africa by sending Tau out on loan – completely ignoring the fact that if Bafana Bafana themselves didn’t have such am embarrassing world ranking outside of the top 50, the Lion of Judah wouldn’t need to be out on loan as he’d have received a work permit in the first place.

The most prolific attacker the coach has and probably the best (investment)he signed is on loan in Belgium making History to the team he plays for ….MR manager all we need is an update on your Starplayer (P.Tau) AC Milan is monitoring the young Guy..
We love a ridiculous transfer rumour and Italian giants AC Milan being interested in a bloke with a few goals in the Belgian second tier certainly fits that category. But then again, according to Kayern Satomi, Tau is the best player the Albion have ever signed, so maybe the Rossoneri are interested?

Have u scored a goal in your life ? Don’t think so , you don’t know P Tau
You need to have scored a goal =to be able to judge Tau according to Fortune Zwide. Just remember that next time you want to point out that he might not quite be the future Ballon d’Or winner that our South African friends believe he is.

Congratulations to coach and Percy Tau on their achievements
It was nice of Prince Mpofana to congratulate Chris Hughton on receiving an honorary degree from the University of Brighton. And it was nice to see him congratulate Tau on his achievements at the same time, no matter how much lesser they might be.

wait till you see him,the lion of judah..wait till you hear peter drury go like..”oooooh how about that..just how good is he?”..and jim baglin go like “..peter, i mean over the years we’ve seen some good african players like aubemeyang, and some really great ones like mo salah..but this man percy tau is just something else..he is indeed the lion of judah”
No explanation needed. This is just insane from Phakisho Thaba.

And as a special bonus highlight, take a bow Lebalang Anderson who showed the sort of business acumen that will get him a long way on The Apprentice by using Percy Tau to promote his South African music business:

Sign Percy Tau!!! or like the page Local Music Updates SA And get the bestof South African hit songs!! #SouthAfricanMusicIsTheFuture”
