Facebook reacts to Percy Tau’s loan move to Club Brugge

With the destination of Percy Tau’s latest loan move from Brighton finally confirmed, it was time to settle back and watch the carnage unfold on the Albion’s Facebook page.

Virtually every single update the club have posted on the social media network since Tau’s arrival a year ago has been besieged with our new-found South African supporters asking why the Lion of Judah isn’t playing for Brighton.

Chelsea fan ejected for hurling homophobic abuse at the Amex – where’s Percy Tau? Third choice women’s team goalkeeper moves to Crystal Palace – where’s Percy Tau?

Chris Hughton receives an honorary degree from the University of Brighton – where’s Percy Tau? An allocation of only 2,000 tickets for Millwall away in the FA Cup – where’s Percy Tau?

10% off the yellow third choice shirts in the Seagulls Superstore for Christmas – where’s Percy Tau? Job opportunity washing the players laundry – where’s Percy Tau?

None of them seem to have quite grasped the concept yet that Tau can’t actually play for the Albion because Bafana Bafan aren’t very good.

We suspected that another loan move away from the Premier League would send them even more crazy than normal. And we weren’t to be disappointed as over 300 comments were left on the post revealing the news.

It makes for absolutely brilliant reading. To save you sifting through it, we’ve taken the best ones for this special edition of Where’s Percy Tau?

Our favourite comments regarding Percy Tau’s move to Club Brugge…

You’ll eventually get relegated without this man who would’ve solidified your place in the top flight. You’ll regret it! Percy Tau
Mark Swelihle Sosibo thinks that Brighton will be relegated without Tau, as the Lion of Judah would solidify Brighton’s place in the top flight. Our next entrant has far loftier aspirations for an Albion side with Tau up front…

All the best to the lion king.had he been in the premier league we would defenetly qualify for ucl this season
Yes, it’s our friend Phakisho Thaba. Phakisho won our first ever Percy Tau Social Media Comment of the Year Award in our 2018-19 End of Season Awards for typing out an imagined piece of commentary between Jim Beglin and Peter Drury discussing how good Tau is. In fact, it’s so good we’ll share it with you again:

wait till you see him,the lion of judah..wait till you hear peter drury go like..”oooooh how about that..just how good is he?”..and jim baglin go like “..peter, i mean over the years we’ve seen some good african players like aubemeyang, and some really great ones like mo salah..but this man percy tau is just something else..he is indeed the lion of judah”

Phakisho is really into the Albion now, always using the term “we” whenever he posts. His unwavering faith in both Brighton and the Lion of Judah is actually pretty infectious.

“He would be playing champions league football and his parent club is already candidate to be relegated in EPL how convenient
Spha Mbatha is quite right in that Tau could be playing Champions League football in 2019-20. We’re not sure why it’s convenient that he can’t play for the Albion though.

“Why you signed a guy on first place….send him to aston villa anyway not what you doing….
Lean Omega Ngwira rather nicely missing the point that if Tau doesn’t have a British Work Permit to play for British club Brighton, he probably won’t be able to play for British club Aston Villa, either. Lean should get extra points though for picking another Premier League team completely at random as opposed to the normal suggestions of Manchester City or Arsenal.

what? Top 50. Tau will be old boy by time he can play then
Buxx Buti has just had the qualification criteria for a work permit explained to him – and it doesn’t sound like he has much faith in Bafana Bafana moving up the FIFA World Rankings anytime soon.
