Graham Potter made 11 changes to his Brighton side but he could still field a starting lineup which cost £56m to assemble as the Albion advanced to the third round of the Carabao Cup thanks to a 2-1 win at Bristol Rovers.

19-year-old striker Aaron Connolly marked his full debut for the Seagulls with the opener but Tom Nichols’ leveller looked like it would send the tie to penalties until captain-for-the-evening Glenn Murray popped up with a 92nd minute winner.
