Brighton failed to muster a single shot on target at a very wet Amex Stadium as Leicester City underlined just why they are second in the Premier League table.

A blistering counter attack led by Jamie Vardy and finished off by Ayoze Pérez put the Foxes 1-0 ahead just past the hour mark.

Vardy then made it 2-0 in the final 10 minutes, scoring with a penalty which had to be retaken due to encroachment after Maty Ryan had saved the former England striker’s initial kick.
