Will we ever win again? Photos from Brighton 0-2 Spurs

Will we ever win again? That was the question being asked after it finished Brighton 0-2 Spurs at the Amex on an evening where Harry Kane was the star of the show (and most of your photos).

Just as he had in the Albion’s FA Cup exit at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium last month, Kane scored past Brighton. He also should have had a penalty after being fouled by Shane Duffy and was at the heart of everything good that Antonio Conte’s side did.

Brighton were less impressive as their losing streak stretched to six consecutive games for the first time since 2006.

If Graham Potter is still after Albion history lessons, then Brighton were relegated that season and Mark McGhee paid with his job shortly after.

The Seagulls surely have enough points on the board to avoid that fate thanks to their excellent first half of the campaign.

That should also give Potter enough credit in the bank, although if Brighton fail to win any of their remaining nine fixtures then pressure might well be ramped up before the summer.

Forget a win, most Albion fans would simply settle for a goal at the Amex right now. Brighton have not scored at home since January, one of only 10 goals netted in front of their own crowd this season. Just four of those have come from open play.

They were unable to muster a single shot on target against Tottenham over the 90 minutes, leading one supporter to comment on Twitter: “I am surprised anyone managed to take photos of Brighton 0-2 Spurs as I thought we had all been bored to sleep.”

Prior to Kane’s second half strike which confirmed that the three points would be heading back to North London, Cristian Romero had put the visitors in front when deflecting a Dejan Kulusevski shot past Robert Sanchez.
